Disappearance date: June 26, 2006

Palma, Celina

On June 26, 2006 onboard a Mazda Van A-2000, Celina was travelling with husband Prudencio, niece Goria Soco and their companions Antonio Lacno and Ariel Beloy on their way to Samar province.

While they were navigating Maharlika Hi way near Sipocot, Camarines Sur, they were blocked by a red Tamaraw FX and four Toyota Revos, They were abducted and taken to an undisclosed military safehouse.

Antonio Lacno was able to escape on June 28, 2006 and he was able to tell their stories.

Celina, Ariel, Prudencio and Gloria remain disappeared.

Disappearance date: March 15, 1982

Rada, Elino

On March 15, 1982 a group of farmers and rattan gatherers were abducted by members of the 60th IBPA on suspicion that they were members of the NPA in Brgy. Maisog, San Lorenzo Ruiz, Camarines Norte.  According to witnesses, the group was forcibly abducted by the soldiers and was brought to a house and detained them for 2 days and nights. They were subjected to heavy interrogations and mauling. To elude the searching families and relatives of the victims, members of the 60th IBPA divided the victims into two groups. A witness allegedly recalled having seen some of the victims alive in the company of the 60th IBPA members when the latter had their dinner in the witness' residence. Early in the morning, residents living near the area in Tabing Ilog, heard several gunshots. Around 6:00AM, soldiers of the 60th IBPA were seen along with them a carabao towing a cart with three dead bodies in it. One of the witnesses, narrated that the three were alleged NPA rebels killed in a gunbattle with them (the soldiers) as told by the 60th IBPA soldiers. The witness further stated that the three dead bodies were wearing fatigue uniforms. At around 10:00 in the morning, soldiers of the 60th IBPA directed some residents in the area to bury the three dead bodies near the Barrio cemetery as no one had claimed the dead bodies. At around 2:00 in the afternoon, the three dead bodies were buried in a rounded burial grave beside a coconut tree near a Bamboo and Madre de Cacao habitation. From thereon, the families and relatives of the victims failed to locate their loved ones.

Sacrez, Gemino

Disappearance date: June 29, 1988

Saldo, Manuel

On June 29, 1988 at about 1:00 a.m. Alex Mago and Saldo Manuel were abducted by armed men in Poblacion, Vinzons, Camarines Norte. The victims were forcibly taken into a green tricycle.

At the same time,  residents of Matango, Vinzons who were at the Poblacion, saw members of ALSA MASA, together with a Sergeant of the 246th PC Coy stationed in San Isidro, Talisay, pointing at the victims and the other residents of Matango.  They did not know what could be the motive of their action.

In the afternoon of July 1, 1988, around 50 persons composed of barangay captain, councilman and residents went in Kalankawan Sur, Vinzons to verify reports that the two victims were seen at the fishpond of Boning Visayas wearing only underwear and their hands tied.

The ALSA MASA members and the Sgt. were also seen in the said fishpond.  Zenny Mago, wife of Alex asked permission to search the place, they were allowed to do so, however,  They did not see the two and they believed the two were already transferred to another place,  based on the footprints found on the area.

The Sergeant denied having the two in their custody, he even advised the families of the victims not to worry since they may return later..
A week before the incident, Alex Mago told his wife that in case he will be abducted, the ALSA MASA will be the ones to blame since they have personal grudge against him.

Disappearance date: March 17, 1982

Sardo, Joaquin

On March 15, 1982 at around 6:00 in the morning, Joaquin Sardo, resident of, Camarines Norte left his house to help the people who were called by Brgy. Capt. and after half an hour, Remedios Sardo, Joaquin's wife, also followed.  When Remedios Sardo arrived at Jose Dayaon's house, there was a force of the 60th IB. Remedios Sardo was asked where to go and was not allowed to leave. He was made to go up to the house and there he saw Juan and Marvin Banlon, the fathers Gualberto and Edilberto Guban, the wife Elino and Elena Rada and Gomeno and Lolita Sacriz.  They were detained for two days and Remedios was asked if he knew Ka Boy, the leader of the NPA, and Remedios was threatened with being shot if he did not tell the truth. March 17, 1982 Joaquin Sardo was buying food in town when he met the military and was not allowed to leave, Joaquin was taken away and since then there has been no news about his whereabouts.

Disappearance date: November 24, 1990

Sarmiento, Edmundo

EDMUNDO CAMACHO SARMIENTO, a farmer and resident of Sitio Malabod, Del Carmen, Lagonoy, Camarines Sur, was arrested on 24 November 1990 by a member of the Civilian Armed Forces Geographical Unit (CAFGU) from the 2nd Infantry Battalion Philippine Army  based in Barangay Antipolo, Tinambac, Camarines Sur. Earlier that day, Edmundo went to Goa, to take charge of a volleyball game there. At around 2:00 in the afternoon and while he was running an on-going game, a CAFGU member arrived.  He was armed with a hand grenade and without any provocation, apprehended Edmundo. The barangay captain hurriedly drew near and asked him what the reason was for the arrest of Edmundo. The CAFGU member answered that there was a problem between him and Edmundo and that he wanted the two of them to discuss it  at the Army camp in Antipolo, Tinambac. The CAFGU member warned the barangay captain not to come nearer, or he will detonate his hand grenade.

The two men left the place, walked towards Antipolo, the barangay captain and several other people decided to follow the two to Antipolo.

Upon reaching the camp, they talked with its commanding officer, and asked about Edmundo's whereabouts. The officer informed them that they have already released Edmundo. From the army camp, the Barangay Captain went to Edmundo's parents to inform them about their son's arrest.

The following day, the Sarmiento couple, accompanied by the captain and several Antipolo barangay officials, went to the army camp to look for Edmundo or any information as to his whereabouts. They did not find Edmundo there nor any lead to what happened to him.

Soco, Gloria

Antonio Lacno was able to escape on June 28, 2006 and he was able to tell their stories.

Ariel, Prudencio, Celina and Gloria remains missing.

Disappearance date: April 26, 1989

Sta. Clara, Nonna

On April 26, 1989  at around 4:00 in the afternoon, Ma. Nonna Sta. Clara and Angelina Lllenaresas left the office of Ecumenical Center for Research and Development at Liboton St. in Naga City to go to Brgy. Sta. Cruz for a research job when abducted by a group of INP elements. 

According to a witness, the two women came to their house at around 4:00 pm. She related further that three unidentified plainclothesmen were following them. She had not, however, seen what happened after the two left the house

According to a witness to the abduction, he saw a woman on board an owner-type jeep colored light green while passing the corner of Blumentritt and Panganiban Sts. in Naga City. The woman was shouting and he was able to hear only the words two and four. 

When shown of the picture of the two he positively identified that one of them was the same woman they saw inside the jeep.

Meanwhile, residents of P. Diaz St. near Brgy. Sta. Cruz claimed that two women had been abducted by plainclothesmen at the vicinity that April 26 afternoon.

The family of Sta. Clara made an inquiry at the Provincial Headquarters through the office of Captain but the latter denied any information on the incident. He instead told the family that in ten days time, the victim might just surfaced. 

FLAG lawyer Luis Ruben General filed a petition for the writ of habeas corpus. During the hearing on May 2, 1989, the respondents denied having in custody of the victims. On May 16, 1989, the petitioners withdraw the case against ranking military officials for fear of the lives of the three vital witnesses. Three FLAG lawyers and the witnesses on the case have received death threats which are believed to come from the military. Another petition for habeas corpus was filed with the Supreme Court on May 22, 1989.

Disappearance date: March 16, 2004

Velarde, Wilfredo

Wilfredo Velarde and Joseph Carlote were picked-up by several armed soldiers (believed to be members of the 9th Infantry Battalion of the Philippine Army) from their farm hut at Tinambac, Camarines Sur on March 16, 2004. 

Benita Velarde, wife of Wilfredo Velarde said her husband and Carlote were Working at their copra stockroom at about 6:00 a.m. when the soldiers came and started looking for high-powered firearms allegedly kept in their house. The soldiers then handcuffed the victims. Benita requested them to allow Joseph Carlote to accompany Velarde and the military agreed. 

Since then the two never returned home.

Disappearance date: April 22, 1989

Velasquez, Lauro

Lauro V. Velasquez of Metro Manila, 35 years old, married and a businessman was abducted by military agents headed.

On April 22, 1989, the victim was believed to have visited the Pellas couple named Jaime and Merly. While he was walking along the diversion road of Sta. Cruz, Naga City, he was suddenly apprehended by unidentified plainclothesmen. 

Later, on April 25, 1989, the Pellas couple were likewise arrested by the same group and were detained at the camp of the 244th Philippine Constabulary/ Integrated National Police (PC/INP) Command based in Naga City.

On May 14, 1989, Irene, Lauro's sister went to the 244th PC/INP camp in an effort to locate her brother. Instead, she was able to talk to the detained Pellas couple. The couple informed her that indeed, Lauro went to their house on April 22 at around 1:30-2:00 in the afternoon. Irene however was not able to see her brother in the camp.

On May 31, 1989, Irene was able to get a referral from the mayor of Naga City and went back to the 244th PC/INP camp. When she was being investigated by an intelligence group, a Captain arrived and asked why was Irene there. The latter answered that she was looking for her brother Lauro Velasquez. The captain replied that Lauro was in the New People's Army that was captured.

A month later, an informant revealed to Irene that Lauro was turned over to another military command in Pili, Legaspi City. Identified military personnel in the command were Police Capt. Castillo, Lt. Freyna, Sgt. Bacendo, Police Torecampo and a certain Esquerra, bodyguard of Lt. Freyna.

From thereon, the victim never appeared again.

Disappearance date: November 11, 1987

Villano, Jose

Jose Villano was abducted in his residence in Langon, Cararayan, Naga City, Camarines Sur on November 11, 1987.

Around 7:30 p.m. a group of armed men knocked on the door of his house, when his wife Myrna opened the door, the men introduced themselves as Comrades and wanted to have a meeting with Jose.

Myrna told them that Jose was not inside, but the armed men do not believed her and forcibly entered the house and found him on one of the bedroom.

The armed men ordered Jose to go out of the house with his hands raised in the air, when he got out of the door the armed men grabbed him and some shouted to bring him along.  Myra struggles to keep his husband but was pushed down by another armed man.

Myrnna identified one of the armed men as a member of a private army in hacienda Mercado in Brgy. Pacol, Naga City.
The families of Jose accompanied by the barangay captain of their village went to the police to report the incident.

Jose Villano was being suspected of harboring NPA guerillas.

Jose Villano remains disappeared.
