CRESENCIO BARNUEVO, a resident of San Pascual, Basud, Camarines Norte, was reportedly abducted on May 25, 1981.

It appears that on May 25, Cresencio informed his wife that he will be going to the town proper of Basud, Camarines Norte, to get a community tax certificate. But the former failed to return home since then.

It also appears that since Cresencio failed to return home, his wife Delia went to all their relatives the following day, May 26, to look for her husband, but all their relatives did not even know his whereabouts.

On May 28, Delia went to Basud to confirm if her husband was able to get a community tax certificate. She also reported the disappearance of her husband at the municipal hall of Basud.

Information gathered by Delia was that her husband was abducted by military men and the victim was forced to board their vehicle.  According to Delia, she believed that the abduction of her husband was because of military suspicion that Cresencio was a supporter of the New People's Army.
