A resident of Brgy. Dumagmang, Camarines Norte, has failed to come home since July 20, 1990. Escolastico Cuachin, 20, left his home that day for gold panning in Sitio Nalisbitan.

Escolastico was last seen accompanied by soldiers with his hands tied; the soldiers were of the 22nd IBPA based in Nalisbitan. It was reported that the soldiers asked for the resident certificate of the persons who witnessed the victim while under the custody of the military. The witnesses were also warned not to tell anybody what they have seen.

The relatives of the victim believed that Escolastico was abducted by the soldiers on suspicion that he could be an NPA courier. The relatives sought the assistance of Labo Vice Mayor Tenorio; he accompanied them to the 22nd Ib camp in Tulay na Lupa in Labo, Camarines Norte, but they were not able to find Escolastico.

Escolastico Cuachin remains disappeared.
