On August 3, 2005, Jerry Olayta, 39 years old, was reportedly abducted by unidentified men armed with an Armalite (M-16) and a .45 caliber pistol in Brgy. Maoraro, Guinobatan, Albay.

According to Ricardo Olayta, cousin of Jerry Olayta, Jerry was on his way to Brgy. Maoraro to sell "Kopra." He was then invited for a drink (alcohol) by his friends when suddenly a motorcycle parked outside the house they were staying in. Jerry didn't know that the abduction was already planned.

A car was parked near the house and we were waiting for them to come out. The car was loaded with men armed with an M-16 rifle and a .45 caliber pistol; the other men went inside the house and forcibly took Jerry, alleging he was an informant or an NPA supporter.
