On March 5, 2018, at around 7:00 in the morning, Nestor dela Cerna was plying his route as a pedicab driver along San Guillermo St., Karuhatan, Valenzuela City.  Suddenly, Nestor was stopped by armed men onboard a white car. He was dragged from his pedicab and made to lie on the ground and handcuffed; he was immediately shoved into the car.

Witnesses said the armed men were wearing face masks, and one of them was wearing a police uniform. One of the armed men pointed his gun at bystanders.   The white car immediately drove out of San Guillermo Street into the busy main road and sped off.

Upon learning of the incident, Marites Casipit, common-law wife of Nestor, said she immediately went to the barangay hall and looked at the recording of the CCTV camera.

They have been to different police stations in the CAMANAVA area looking for Nestor; they even went to the QCPD HQ in Camp Karingal in Quezon City, but police were denying that they arrested Nestor.
