Rogelio Alfonso, 23, single, last seen wearing a fatigue shirt (short sleeves) and maong pants. On August 26, 1985, a people's march/rally was held in San Fernando, Pampanga, to protest military atrocities in Central Luzon. The group assembled at the Cathedral for the march and took Gen. Hizon Ave. to meet the other group coming from the assembly point in San Matias. The cathedral group was blocked by three firetrucks and an anti-riot squad in front of the Mobile gas station in San Nicolas, San Fernando, Pampanga. At about 3:30 pm, Rogelio and his companion were requested by their companions to get their vehicle parked at the cathedral patio. The two did not come back, nor did they reach the vehicle at the patio. At around 4:00 pm. A certain lady aboard a parked passenger jeepney along Gen. Hizon Ave., beside the Cathedral, claimed to have seen a military jeep pass by and turn left on V. Tiomico St. towards the direction of the provincial capitol. Aboard were four men with long firearms (the driver in fatigue uniform) and two young men sitting in the back with the description tallying the two missing young men. They were being slapped aboard the jeep and appeared bloodied.
