Rogelio Rebucan, resident of No. 7 Medina compound, Equitable Village, Las Piñas, Metro Manila, and a watch-your-car boy disappeared on August 2, 1989.

He was at his usual place of work at the parking lot of the Pasay City Hall when a grey car with no plate number arrived. Thinking the car wanted to park, he gave instructions on where to park the grey car. The car driver ignored his instruction and stopped, and out came a big man and dragged Rogelio inside.

His relatives suspected that Rogelio's abduction had something to do with the recent raid and zoning operation conducted by police and military units on communities suspected of harboring members of the Sparrow Unit (an urban guerrilla unit of the New People's Army). Among those arrested was Rogelio's brother-in-law, Victor Aquino.

According to Aquino, he was asked during interrogation who Rogelio Rebucan was, to which he replied that Rebucan was his brother-in-law.

Relatives of Rogelio Rebucan also tried to look for him in several camps, but he was not found. They also filed a writ of habeas corpus with the help of Atty. Marvic Leonen.

He remains disappeared to this day.
